NetworkNature Labs Ideas: JUSTNature selected!

9 July 2024
Four submissions from JUSTNature were selected for the second phase of the NN Labs process!

In May 2024, the NetworkNature project launched the NNLabs Initiative, a four-step call that aims to promote and facilitate the development of new activities, initiatives, tools, and guidelines related to nature-based solutions (NbS) through the cooperation of Task Forces within the network.

Four JUSTNature’s submissions have been selected for the second phase of the NNLabs process! The selected ideas will be presented in the Networking Tables at the NetworkNature Task Forces Cluster Meeting taking place on 24th September in Brussels in the context oof the next NetworkNature annual event "Busting myths: People with nature". This event will provide an opportunity to further brainstorm and develop the ideas in groups, preparing them for the upcoming steps. The Networking Tables aim to contribute to shape the proposed ideas and make them more impactful. We're excited to participate!

The JUSTNature’s selected ideas are:

  • Handbook on NbS (co-)governance | Viktor Bukovszki, TF6 (ABUD)

A handbook on NbS co-governance that would synthesize experiences from European and American projects, offering practical guidance on transitioning to new, more decentralized modes of governance.

Part of the Networking Table 1: Publications and methodologies on NbS co-creation and co-governance

  • User-friendly interactive digital guide for co-governance knowledge in urban NbS | Tannya Pico, TF6 (ISOCARP Institute)

The tool aims to simplify the complex theories and principles behind NbS co-governance and make them accessible through easy-to-understand language and engaging interactive visual content.

Part of the Networking Table 2: Implementing digital support tools for the co-creation and co-governance of NbS

  • Open tool for urban ecosystem valuation through citizen science | Derique Mikhail Casio, TF3 (ABUD)

An open-source tool for collecting and sharing valuations of ecosystem services, relying on citizen science willingness-to-pay studies.

Part of the Networking Table 9: Citizen Science for NbS

  • Service design toolkit for NbS | Maria Francisca Tapia, TF6 (ABUD)

A service design toolkit, including methods and materials to figure out how users interact with existing or future NbS, how they experience it, and how NbS design can co-create desirable experiences.
