On September 23rd 2025, we held the JUSTNature webinar "Practical, collaborative tools for the just implementation of Nature-based Solutions in communities: JUSTPlanT."
The session addressed the questions: how can we design sustainable interventions for cities in a way that champions diverse voices? What lessons can we take away from NbS projects to ensure that co-creative processes are just and inclusive? It included a talk by Prof. Dr. Sonia Gantioler (Hochschule Weihenstephan-Triesdorf, University of Applied Sciences), who discussed her first-hand experiences leading NbS project JUSTNature, and reflections by Dr. Edward Duca (University of Malta), who talked about how he used this toolkit to identify justices and injustices in the unique setting of Gzira, Malta.
The webinar provides actionable insights that are of interest to practitioners, policy makers or anyone curious about equitable green interventions. As a highlight, the practical toolkit JUSTPlanT is presented. This method kit is designed to provide creative and collaborative tools to facilitate in the co-creation of NbS, focusing especially on ecological justice.
