New podcast episode with 'What's That Green?'

Chania 31 March 2026
The fifth episode of our podcast series in partnership with WTG? featuring the Chania CiPeL.

We are happy to release the fifth episode of our podcast series with What's That Green?, the creative, community-driven platform focused on nature-based solutions in cities.

This episodes takes you to Chania, Crete, guided by Petroula Sofia Anastasiadou, (local project coordinator), who introduces the Jasmine Wall, a vertical green installation that combines environmental monitoring, citizen participation, and local identity to rethink how nature can re-enter dense urban spaces.

In this episode, we look at how the JUSTNature intervention has helped improve air quality, reduce urban heat, and bring nature back into a dense city centre. Tune in to discover:

  • how small scale interventions can trigger wider urban change,
  • how involving citizens in decision-making builds long-term ownership,
  • why learning-by-doing is essential when local expertise is limited,
  • and what role maintenance and local capacity play in NbS deployment.

Beyond the project itself, this story shows how cities can start, even without all the answers, and grow from there!

The episode is accompanied by an inspiring blogpost by WTG?
