New podcast episode with 'What's That Green?'

Leuven 17 July 2025
The second episode of our podcast series in partnership with WTG? featuring the Leuven CiPeL.

We are very excited to release the second episode of our podcast series with What's That Green?, the creative, community-driven platform focused on nature-based solutions in cities.

This time, WTG? host Fanny Téoule is joined by Nele Janssen, project coordinator at the Leuven CiPeL, who shares insights into the green transformation of the Constantin Meunierstraat pilot site, from a grey, car-dominated street into a climate-resilient space. Listen in to find out how the deployment of the JUSTNature project became a learning ground for just and collaborative urban design!

During the episode, Nele explains how Leuven engaged residents step by step, from early fears to a final applause, and why testing first was key to building trust. She also discusses what made the pilot street design so special (and what didn’t go as planned). Don't miss her insights and recommendations for other cities who wish to implement just and collaborative nature-based interventions. The episode is accompanied by an inspiring blogpost by WTG?.

Tune in to the first episode of this series for a deep dive into what JUSTNature is all about: why justice matters in Nature-based Solutions, how the project came together, and what it looks like when cities become living labs for change.
