At the end of September, the Szombathely local team organized the closing workshop of the JUSTNature project in the CiPeL, an inspiring afternoon which also marked the beginning of something new.
Local residents joined us once more to collectively reflect on the experiences, strengths, and challenges of the green transformations at Százhold Park and the Dési Huber István Primary School courtyard. We discussed what we have learned from the past few years of planning, implementation, and maintenance, and how we can apply these experiences in new areas of the city if another opportunity arises for a similar, nature-based development. These insights will decidedly serve as a foundation for next steps and future projects.
Together, we didn’t just talk about the future: we mapped it out, with colorful notes, ideas, and visions for our community spaces. Once again, Szombathely’s citizens have shown that when we think together, the future becomes more than an idea - it becomes a plan.
