This document, created by the Municipality of Merano as part of the JUSTNature project, is aimed at garden owners and professionals in Merano. It contains practical recommendations for the natural design of gardens, balconies, and rooftops, with the goal of promoting biodiversity and counteracting climate change. The brochure introduces the "Nature in the Garden" movement, explains ecological principles such as avoiding pesticides and peat, and describes a points system for awarding ecological gardens. It is supplemented by plant lists, design tips, and information on ecological functionality. The city of Merano actively supports these measures and integrates them into its building regulations.
